The Customer Entity allows you to store different properties against your customer.
Customers are identified by either email address, or application ID for mobile device users.
Where it is possible to identify an email address and an application id as the same individual the Intilery system will do that, so one visitor can be tracked across multiple channels.
Whilst a visitor is unidentified, they are uniquely defined by a timestamp of when they are first seen and a number called the visitor ID.
Your System's Unique Identifiers
It is possible to define alternate keys that match to unique keys in your system for identifying customers.
This might be some sort of unique ID in a cookie on a website or a phone number.
To set up an alternate key use the model definition wizard to configure the alternate key, the key requires a short prefix to enable it to be identified alongside email addresses.
